Shaftsbury, Vermont

We are currently on vacation in Shaftsbury, Vermont. Our dear friend John has let us stay in his house and we are loving it. Our house is next to a working farm. We have been eating incredible blueberries picked the same day and fresh, fresh, fresh veggies every night. Our friend Stephanie is with us at the moment and she made the most wonderful blueberry pancakes this morning.

The sunflower field below can be seen from our house window. The photo of stella was taken yesterday, on her birthday in the woods on John's property. The last image is down by the pond in the house's yard.

Melissa and Stephen's Green Pastures wedding

When I met Melissa and Stephen I was delighted to discover that they are our neighbors. They literally live down the street from us. They chose us for their photographers, their next door neighbor, Gretchen, to do their flowers, the fabulous San Jose Hotel for their guests and getting ready locale, and our neighborhood gem, Green Pastures, for the ceremony and reception. This was truly a neighborhood event. Brian even met the guys at their house and walked to Green Pastures.

It was early evening when friends and family gathered around for the intimate ceremony performed by Melissa's boss, and Texas Supreme court judge, the Honorable Nathan Hecht.

Alas, we will miss our new found neighbors as they are making a move to New York City to pursue new jobs and marital bliss.

Well, here is the latest painting. I guess this makes me officially obsessed with pyracantha berries. Getting ready for a show in the fall with David Leonard at the Davis Gallery. More about that when I know the details.

The final painting of my residency

Here is my latest painting that I just finished. I have had an amazing time up here in Vermont and have really enjoyed my time at the Vermont Studio Centers residency program this past month. I will be back in Austin on Saturday. I look forward to being home in comfortable surroundings and warm weather and seeing my husband, my cat and badly missed friends.

Stella is at a month long painting residency

I am in Johnson, Vermont at the moment at a month long painting residency. Here is my first finished painting.
I've also included a photo of the view out my bedroom window. There is snow on the ground and it is COLD. I am enjoying the change of temperature at the moment but am sure I will be longing for the warmer Austin weather soon. Hope you all are keeping warm.

"Paint" show opens tomorrow at the Davis Gallery
