mom & dad's 1955 wedding
I recently visited my parents and rediscovered their wedding photographs. Needless to say, I was delighted. What makes them extra special is that they are actually stereographs; glass slides with a double image that you place in a viewer that you then hold up to your eyes and the images appear 3-D. My parents went ahead and got them made into digital files as well, so I can share a few of my favorites with you here.
They have a total of 50 images, including a number of images in which they had their eyes closed. Something we never see anymore. My favorite is the last one, the newlyweds in their pajamas. My Mom told me the photographer came to their house about a week after the wedding to take it. I just love my Dad in those red heart PJ's. He's reading a book about cooking, my Mom a book about sex. Oh my!
