Keansburg Amusement Park, Keansburg, NJ

Here are some images from my trip to the boardwalk in Keansburg, NJ. The boardwalk here is appealing in that they haven't done a lot of updating. The arcade games, rides and spinning wheels are all vintage. I just love the old graphics on the arcade games. And take a look at this awesome fortune teller. Notice the addition of mardi gras style beads and the "be mine" pin. -brian

3rd street loquats

Just thought I would share with you my latest painting. This is one of two paintings that I did while I was in Vermont this summer. The second piece will follow shortly. I named this one "3rd street loquats", it was photographed around the block from us here in Austin. Our neighbors have the most incredible tree.

williamsburg, brooklyn

Towards the end of our vacation we went to visit a couple of friends who both live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. What a happening spot, as our friend Dave would say, "bananas!" That part of the city has the most amazing graffiti art, it is such a pleasure just walking around.

We visited Dave at his home/studio and got to sit in as he recorded the new Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs record. That was awesome. Oh, and thanks to to the other Dave for showing us the best coffee shop and generally hanging out.

We also visited Rebecca, I know her from grad school. Got to go to her studio where she is currently working on a project with the artist Vik Muniz. They are creating forgeries of the back of famous photos. Beautiful work, she is so talented.

Went to the new New Museum and the MoMA as well. The MoMA had a fabulous exhibit about pre fab houses. Actually had 5 houses on the grounds you could walk through.

I love Austin, but the energy in Willliamsburg was alluring.

Shaftsbury, Vermont

We are currently on vacation in Shaftsbury, Vermont. Our dear friend John has let us stay in his house and we are loving it. Our house is next to a working farm. We have been eating incredible blueberries picked the same day and fresh, fresh, fresh veggies every night. Our friend Stephanie is with us at the moment and she made the most wonderful blueberry pancakes this morning.

The sunflower field below can be seen from our house window. The photo of stella was taken yesterday, on her birthday in the woods on John's property. The last image is down by the pond in the house's yard.

Super beautiful!
