The Road, day and night

We had an out of town wedding this past weekend in Fredericksburg. As per our usual routine, stopping and taking pictures along the way is a big part of any roadtrip. The drive through the Texas Hill Country is just perfect at the moment. All the wildflowers are blooming, the weather isn't insanely hot yet and the wide open roads are a welcome relief from Austin's ever increasing traffic.

I would sure recommend you take a trip out of town before the summer months hit and we are all forced inside by the heat of the Texas sun and the only trip out of the house is to run to the air conditioned car to the air conditioned restaurant to the air conditioned movie theatre, etc. -brian

Jessie and Tyler's Barr Mansion wedding

This has been a spring of awesome weddings, so Jessie and Tyler's wedding at the Barr Mansion fit right in. Besides the ever so beautiful gardens, the expanse of green grass, and the magical evening light of the Barr Mansion, the bride sparkled with each dimpled smile. Practical and stylish in her gold Manolo Blahnik flats, she seemed perfectly at home in her mothers 70's era wedding gown. I loved it.

It was fun right from the start. We did all the family and wedding party photos before the ceremony and as you can see in just the few photos below, they knew how to have a good time. Friends served as DJ's, bringing along their record collections and their good taste in music. Sparklers, cigars and a little karaoke made for a great night.

The Trees are Alive

Stella and I took a walk around the neighborhood this evening. There seems to be something going on with the trees in this area. This beautiful Chevelle SuperSport got crushed by this rather large tree. We were told by a passing woman that the tree just fell down. No storm or anything. It just fell. This seemed rather odd until I saw this other tree across the way which looked as if it was watching us. We determined that the two trees were in cahoots with each other and had some personal vendetta against the car. Perhaps the car was loud or the trees were making a statement about our societies gas guzzling ways. A word to the wise, be good to the trees. -brian
